Melbourne Dog Photography Fundraiser for Australian Deaf Dog Rescue

Rosie is a 1.8-year-old Mini Dachshund with a rare double dapple coat – a pattern that gives her those stunning, marbled markings, but is also linked to severe vision impairment.

Rosie was born blind, yet she was kept for breeding because of her colouring. When her puppies were also born blind, the breeders surrendered Rosie and her babies to a shelter and requested they all be euthanised.

Thankfully, Hear No Evil Deaf Dog Rescue stepped in, placed them in loving foster care, and began the search for new homes. I had the honour of donating a portrait session for Rosie and her human, Kat, and today, I’m sharing their story and photos as part of our Pet Glam portrait series celebrating Melbourne’s beloved dogs.
