All you wanted to know about the SEEN women’s photo session experience
When is the best time for a maternity photoshoot?
It’s YOUR special time and we encourage you to have your pregnancy photo shoot when you feel ready and called to have this experience. Although it’s recommended to schedule the shoot between 29 and 35 weeks, we understand if your schedule might not allow for that and are happy to work with you on timing. We’ve even photographed mums as early as 6 months pregnant, and they were thrilled with the experience.
Can my partner and my children join my pregnancy photo shoot?
Dads are welcome and encouraged to join in on the photo shoot, they can and should be a part of this special experience! If you’re bringing children along, please bring someone to help keep them occupied, and don’t forget to bring your furry baby too.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
Before the photo shoot, we’ll work with you to create a mood board based on your inspirations and preferences. We’ll also provide recommendations, but ultimately we want you to wear what makes YOU feel good. Some clients bring their entire closet, while others rent or buy specific pieces. You can even wear multiple outfits during the shoot, so you don’t have to limit yourself to just one look.
How should I prepare for my mum to be photo session?
Once you’ve booked your session with us, we’ll send you a detailed guide to help make your shoot preparations a breeze. To prevent marks on your skin, we recommend avoiding tight underwear and clothing on the day of the session. Additionally, consider getting a manicure and pedicure a day or two in advance for an extra polished look.
Where is your studio located?
Our Melbourne portrait photography studio is located in Bayside Melbourne, Cheltenham. Our studio is built inside an architecturally designed character-filled heritage building, a step away from Westfield Southland shopping centre and Victoria Golf Club.
Do I have to be nude for my maternity session?
If you decide to have an artistic nude pregnancy photo session, rest assured that your comfort is our top priority. You can choose to be completely nude, partially covered, or wrapped, and we will ensure that certain parts of your body remain discreetly covered. Our style is focused on capturing the natural beauty of your body shape.
Should I be concerned about extra weight and stretch marks?
We use styling, posing, lighting, and angles to accentuate your best features and minimize any areas you may not be as confident about. Your session also includes complete professional retouching, so you don’t have to worry about any imperfections that may bother you.
I’ve never had a photo session before, will you help me with posing?
Even if you’ve never had a photo shoot before, we’ll ensure that you feel comfortable, relaxed, and enjoy the process. We’ll guide you through elegant poses and angles that flatter your body shape. With our expertise, you’re in good hands, and we’re confident that you’ll have a fantastic selection of images to choose from.
When will I receive my photos?
Our turnaround time is 4 weeks and sometimes sooner. Please let us know if you have any specific time frames and we will try to do our best to deliver.
